MJ related ramblings [29 Jun 2009|08:45pm]
I miss being a kid. I'm so glad I grew up in the early 80's. Michael Jackson and Thriller are the perfect backdrop to an amazing childhood.

I'm sad. Seriously. I even watched Moonwalk again. Corny sequences aside, Michael's live rendition of "Man in The Mirror" will always hit me right in the gut.

Even during the child molestation brouhaha the naive 13 year old Lala inside me wouldn't believe any of it. I guess I really bought into his entire Peter Pan persona.

In college my favorite song was "Human Nature". Jim, my best friend at the time, used to have a cassette compilation with SWV's "Right Here" in it, and when that song would come up he'd always say (while in a numb haze of cannabis) "Lalaaa...it's your favorite, girrrl".

I have a friend, Pye, who loves Michael Jackson too. And he can dance really well. And since I can't dance myself I used to describe Michael's signature steps so he'd do it for me. Like I'd say: "Dude I love that thing he does in Smooth Criminal when he kinda strutting and spinning slowly...?" and Pye would go: "Ah eto?" Bam-bam-bam-bam.

And Karl and I have always wanted to gather enough people to from a zombie mob for Halloween. I keep trying to convince my older brother to be Michael, because he can move like Michael too and because I know how to make a makeshift version of the iconic red costume. That's our ultimate Halloween dream. To have a mob of zombies crawling around Manila led by a pango Michael Jackson. It would be glorious in all its Golimar glory.

Sigh. Bye Mike.
